We have been through three fund investment cycles and two full realisation cycles, in a variety of different economic conditions, qualifying us as one of the most experienced private equity firms in South Africa.
Our investment track record dates back to 1992 when our predecessor company, SMC Capital, began a pilot investment activity in South Africa, raising capital for small private equity investments on an individual basis.
In 1997, we launched our first formal fund vehicle and have since raised two further funds. In all, these funds have received capital commitments of approximately R 900 million from our investors.
