Our investment executives have contributed significant personal capital to each of our managed funds and/or made co-investments in some of the portfolio companies. For most of our executives, these interests represent the most important part of their overall personal investment portfolio.
Our latest fund, Fund III, received support from all but one of the investors in our previous fund, demonstrating their satisfaction with our work and our performance. Moreover, these returning investors on average quadrupled their monetary commitments from Fund II to Fund III.
Our firm has always enjoyed significant support from international investors, with approximately 50% of our funding originating outside South Africa in each of Fund I and II, rising to 65% in Fund III (as shown below). We are proud to be a significant channel for foreign investment into South Africa.
